Chicago Artists Coallition Nominates Urban Rockwell as Artist to Watch in Chicago. He will be featured Friday, February 8th 6pm discussing and viewing Art along with a Power Point Presentation featured at The Little Black Pearl Art Center. Largest exhibition of artwork by Chicago artists under one roof

Art of Michael Burton to Be Showcased

At 10th Annual "Chicago Art Open," Oct. 4 – Oct. 27

Chicago south side resident among 300 local artists at show at

Iron Studios, 3636 S. Iron Street:

In Bridgeport being held as part of citywide Chicago Artists' Month.

 

CHICAGO-October 4, 2007—the art of Michael Burton, a resident

of Chicago’s south side will be among the local artists whose work will be on display at the 10th annual "Chicago Art Open," the largest annual exhibition of Chicago artists under one roof.

The show will be held from Thursday, October 4, through October 27 in

18,000 square feet on the second floor of the Iron Studios, 3636 S.

Iron Street. in Chicago's  Bridgeport neighborhood.

 

The art that Michael Burton will display at the show is titled:

Let Me Paint a Picture. It is a 14”x18” Landscape painted in acrylic. Chicago Art Open is a visually eclectic exhibition showcasing the works

of more than 300 prominent,  mid-career and emerging professional

artists as well as student artists from area colleges, universities and

art schools. The event features works in several mediums: digital,

drawings, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture,

textiles and installations.

 

The show is open seven days a week. Hours are: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

There is a $5 suggested donation but those 18 years or younger and

students over that age with ID are admitted free. The event's opening

reception will be held from 6:00-10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5.

Admission is $20.

 

The show is sponsored by the Chicago Artists' Coalition (CAC), a

non-profit service organization that has championed the cause of

Chicago area artists since its founding more than 30 years ago.

Since its debut in 1998, Chicago Art Open has been an integral part of

Chicago Artists' Month, a citywide celebration coordinated  by

Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs in October to bring attention

to the city's rich visual arts community.
